Lindsey Graham Vows to 'Literally' Use Military Force Against Congress if it Doesn't Vote His Way

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), a man who sits on a technology subcommittee yet has never sent an e-mail, really wants to be your next President — and time is running out as, according to Graham, there aren’t nearly enough “angry white guys” in America for the GOP to “stay in business for the long term.”

However, if Graham is President, not only will “white men in male-only clubs” do “great,” but he promises a heavy-handed approach to governing: My Way, Or Corpses Will Litter The Streets.

While visiting the Concord City Republican Committee on March 7 at the “Politics and Pies” forum, Ben Swann reports that Graham explained that “American ground troops would be necessary to defeat ISIS. In addition, he advocated for the reversal of defense spending cuts and, as President of the United States, Graham would restrict the movement of lawmakers until those cuts are reversed.”

Graham was one of the few Republicans to speak against the sequester, which caused many of the cuts Graham is referencing. In late 2012, he and John McCain warned that sequestration would cause an “inability to defend the nation” from enemies.

Graham is so serious about restoring those defense cuts that he would use any means necessary to restore them — even brute force. Graham says his first act as President would be to deploy the military to Washington to force Congress to reverse defense and intelligence budget cuts.

And here’s the first thing I would do if I were president of the United States. I wouldn’t let Congress leave town until we fix this. I would literally use the military to keep them in if I had to. We’re not leaving town until we restore these defense cuts. We are not leaving town until we restore the intel cuts.

Graham says he was joking, but he sure sounded serious. In any case, this shows that Republicans are willing to consider anything — even the use of the military to overcome the separation of powers and force Congress to vote a certain way — to accomplish their goals.
