With Carly Fiorina entering the Republican presidential race this week, it’s about time the world was reminded that just a few weeks ago, she accused liberal environmentalists in California for creating the five-year drought that is currently devastating the state by “failing to create any new canals or waterways in decades”.
It’s astonishing that a person running for President of the United States can have such a poor understanding of what is eighth-grade environmental science. The harsh effects of climate change coupled with the unsustainable draining of underground, un-replenishable aquifers by multinational corporations has led to this drought. Fiorina’s remarks are so backward they are akin to blaming the Red Cross for wounded veterans or the Salvation Army for America’s poor.
