Watch: Bernie Sanders Schools Rand Paul On Why Healthcare Is A Right

In this astonishing clip, Bernie Sanders destroys Rand Paul for his offensive remarks on American healthcare. The now presidential candidate Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) believes that a “right to healthcare” is another term for slavery. “You have to realize what that implies. It’s not an abstraction. I’m a physician. It means you have the right to come to my house and conscript me. Means you believe in slavery. It means you’re not only going to enslave me, but enslave the janitors at my hospitals, the orderlies, the nurses.”

It is an astonishingly callous statement from someone who dares to call himself a physician (Paul is not a certified doctor).

Sanders then asks a nurse at a public clinic whether or not she feels like she is a “slave”, which she obviously does not: “I love my job, I do not feel like a slave.” Sanders then goes on to ridicule Paul’s atrocious remarks, which the panel finds quite amusing.

Rand Paul seems to have a very twisted view on what “rights” are, and appears to believe that it entails forcing people to do things to fulfill those rights. Remember that when the election comes around; this man thinks he can be our president some day.
