KKK Vows to Terrorize Blacks With Cross Burning At SC Pro-Confederate Flag Rally

While many claim that the Confederate flag is not a symbol of racism, the Ku Klux Klan’s planned rally for the flag fairly well invalidates this assertion. Sure, the flag represents “heritage” — but what heritage?

Alexander H. Stephens, Vice President of the Confederacy, said it best when he outlined exactly the sort of “heritage” the treasonous faux-country represented in his 1861 “Cornerstone Speech”:

…its foundations are laid, its corner- stone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery subordination to the superior race is his natural and normal condition. This, our new government, is the first, in the history of the world, based upon this great physical, philosophical, and moral truth.

When flag fetishists speak of their “history,” or their “heritage,” represented by the confederate battle flag that still flies high over the South Carolina Statehouse, this is what they are referencing: a belief that the “Negro” is not equal to the good, pure, pristine white man.

It’s also important to look to who supports the flag if we wish to determine what the flag represents — in this case, the Ku Klux Klan.

On Monday, the South Carolina Budget and Control Board approved the Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan’s application for a permit for the rally, where they say they expect between 100 and 200 people to attend. The rally, which is totally about the flag rather than racism, will be held on July 18 between 3 and 5 p.m.

The fight for the removal of the Confederate flag from Statehouse grounds, which the Klan calls “cultural genocide” (but a more fun name is the “Honkeycaust“), picked up steam after white supremacist Dylann Roof executed nine African-Americans in a historic black church. Numerous photos of Roof feature him posing with the flag. Roof says that his intention was to kill a bunch of black people and ignite a new Civil War.

Even Republican Governor Nikki Haley, who once supported the flag’s presence, has called for its removal following Roof’s act of right-wing terrorism.

Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan Grand Dragon Robert Jones says that Roof was “heading in the right direction” with his attack, but that he should have targeted black people Jones says “are selling the drugs to white youth, the ones who are robbing and raping every chance they get.”

“If you can’t tell, they are trying to wipe us out of the history books,” the Klan says on its web site. “Tell this Marxist government they better not dishonor out ancestors graves.”

Great Titan James Spears says that the rally is not about racism — it’s about the flag. “It should be a peaceful rally,” said Spears. “We usually have pretty peaceful rallies. I mean, to me, it should be a peaceful rally. Like I said, it’s for the Confederate Flag.”

After the rally, the Klansmen will gather at the Grand Dragon’s home for a good, old-fashioned cross burning, according to Spears:

“Our Grand Dragon lives 20 minutes from the State House, where the flag’s at. That’s where we’ll be holding a cross lighting at the end of the night.”

While some surely welcome the Klan, Governor Haley has a different opinion on the matter: “This is our state, and they are not welcome.”

…Except they are. Their permit was approved.

The Klan asks that the event remain “whites only” in keeping with its “traditional” values.
