Black Wisconsin Lawmaker Sticks Out Like Sore Thumb, Gets Booted From Walker Event

Scott Walker recently announced his run for the White House, to the surprise of no one. An African-American Democratic legislator, Mandela Barnes, attending the event, however, had a very concerning experience at the event- he was ejected from the Walker rally for…unspecified reasons.

He describes the incident on his Facebook page:
“So I go to the Scott Walker rally, and as soon as I get in the door, a volunteer zeroes in on me to ask if I was alone and if I would like to stand on-stage. Now this could have been my moment for comedic/ironic gold, but I kindly declined. Then a few minutes later, I was pointed out by a staff person who recognized who I was and asked me to leave. I went from the top to the bottom before I even knew it. I was like a sore thumb and it brought about two distinctly different interactions, lol.”

From what it sounds like, he was double profiled- not a very good look for Walker’s opening rally, which was hypocritically gun-free despite Walker’s relentless support for open-carry laws and dismantling background checks. Walker’s entire career has been catering to the wishes of the Koch Brothers and rich Wisconsinites, and this is just more evidence of his disregard for the his countrymen who don’t fit into the right categories.
