In this clip, former Vice President and self-admitted war criminal Dick Cheney joins Sean Hannity to spout some war-mongering, neo-conservative drivel about the the “dangers” of the Iran deal, how the United States cannot trust foreigners for any reason at all- and the President Obama is lying about Iran’s weapons of mass destruction.
Sean Hannity opens with an incredibly offensive statement, asking Cheney if this was “a day that will live in infamy?” Those words were first spoken by President Franklin D. Roosevelt following the 1941 Japanese attacks on Pearl Harbor, in which over two thousand Americans lost their lives. The comparison of a comprehensive nuclear peace treaty with that horrific day is so utterly hyperbolic and enormously offensive that it is beyond comprehension.
Cheney then begins his usual diatribe against Obama’s Middle Eastern policies, complaining how they aren’t leading to enough foreign wars, and accuses Obama of lying when the President said that he has stopped the proliferation of nuclear weapons in the Middle East- which is insane to hear from a man who literally lied about Iraq’s WMDs and dragged our nation into one of the most catastrophic foreign policy blunders our nation has ever embarked on.
He then goes to top it all off by literally saying that we’re “closer actual use of nuclear weapons than we’ve been at any time since Hiroshima and Nagasaki in World War II.” Sorry Cheney, no matter how hard you rage, you will be remembered as a war-monger and a murderer; President Obama as a peacemaker and a diplomat.
