Watch: Rand Paul and Repubs FREAK OUT As Trump Vows To Run As Independent If He Loses Primary

In this clip from last night’s Republican debate, Donald Trump refuses to rule out an independent run, and promises to support the Republican nominee- as long as it’s him.

In a very curious move, the FOX moderators decided to open the debate with a pledge of party allegiance, asking if anyone on the stage would refuse to support the eventual Republican nominee and promise not to run as an independent candidate. It seemed a very desperate choice for the first question of the debate, or else a blatant attempt at starting drama right off the bat.

Trump, of course, behaved like Trump does, and refused to make any such pledge: “I cannot say I have to respect the person that — if it’s not me — the person that wins…if I do win, and I’m leading by quite a bit, that’s what I wanna do. I can totally make that pledge if I’m the nominee.”

Rand Paul instantly attacks him in defense of the Republican Party that has treated him rather poorly so far for his refusal to adhere to the party line and have some ideas of his own. It was the opening shot in a debate which quickly went downhill, but Trump managed to keep it interesting the whole time with his bombastic ignorance and ridiculous pronouncements.
