Delusional Tea Party darling Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) is so upset over President Obama’s historic nuclear peace deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran that he has vowed to quit Congress and await the End of Days should it pass.
Radio host and rabble-rousing demagogue Glenn Beck announced on his show that he had received an email from Gohmert which had this to say:
‘Last week, I announced to the world if the House and Senate will treat Iran – the Iran treaty as a treaty, I will not run for my congressional seat again. It’s the only thing I have left that our leadership wants beside my integrity. And after last week that I spent in Egypt, I feel so compelled to do absolutely everything I can to derail this president’s drastic move towards a nuclear holocaust. I won’t run again if the House voted on my attached resolution and the Senate voted on ratification.”
Out of all the absurd crocodile tears and wild doomsday predictions coming from the far right, this is one of the stranger ones. We heavily encourage Mr. Gohmert to follow through with his promise. Our Congress would be well rid of the Islamophobic warmonger who coined the term “terror babies” (to describe the children of Middle Eastern immigrants), who tried to paint the family of Hillary Clinton’s aide Huma Abedin as a members of the Muslim Brotherhood, or believes that the Keystone XL pipeline will encourage caribou to have more sex.
