Watch: This Security Video Just Got Trump’s Manager Charged With Battery

Republican front-runner Donald Trump has been unapologetic in his blatant contempt and condescension for women. Perhaps realizing that the shallow and primitive sort of churl who would be excited by Trump’s hateful rabble-rousing probably feels that they are superior to women as well, Trump has refused to disavow a host of his past appalling statements about women – and has continued to make more as the campaign wears on.

That misogyny clearly extends throughout the Trump campaign, judging from the disgraceful way his campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, roughly grabbed and dragged Breibart reporter Michelle Fields by the arm to prevent her from speaking to Trump. Trump’s campaign has refused to condemn either the literal objectification of Fields or the violence that Lewandowski used against her, instead blaming her for her own assault. Her bosses at the fascist hate-rag Breibart also refused to stand by her, shamefully throwing her under the bus in order to stay in the Trump campaign’s good graces.

The police department of Jupiter, Florida, however, didn’t feel the same way. Charges of battery were filed and Lewandowski was arrested on Tuesday morning, after new security camera footage emerged showing that correlated the accounts of Ms. Fields and witness Washington Post reporter Ben Terris. The Trump campaign, as usual, denied everything.

This isn’t even the first time Lewandowski has found himself in trouble for his chauvinism and violent tendencies: Buzzfeed reports that he has been “accused of pushing a CNN reporter who tried to ask the candidate a question; physically confronting an aide for a rival campaign in a post-debate spin room; publicly shouting threats over the phone at a restaurant; making sexual comments about female journalists; and calling up women in the campaign press corps late at night to make unwanted romantic advances.”

Just in case the Trump campaign needed to make their utter disdain for the female gender any more clear, the lawyer they hired for Lewandowski, Kendall Coffey, was himself indicted for assaulting a sex worker. The entire incident is a disturbing metaphor for how assaults on women – sexual or otherwise – are treated by the barbaric boors of the Republican Party: never given the benefit of the doubt, accused of making up the incident for her own personal gain, dismissed and ignored with condescension, disparaged for daring to complain about her treatment. Such misogyny has absolutely no place in modern American society, but feels right at home in the whirlwind of discrimination and ignorance that is the Donald Trump campaign.
