Turning the tables on the Tea Party “darling” and Republican Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), Whoopi Goldberg and the ladies on The View rightfully demand to see his birth certificate. Born in Canada, the presidential hopeful is championed by those so-called birthers who spawned a brief and foolish controversy over President Obama’s citizenship; Cruz’s own father even wanted to “send him back to Kenya.”

Whoopi went on to parody some of the racial issues surrounding Pres. Obama’s candidacy by applying that same logic to Cruz: “And you’re a mixed, gentleman, right? You are mixed. I want to know, are you talking for the Cuban side or the white side. What are you talking for? See, now, when we turn it around, it’s not very nice. It’s not very nice.”

Kudos to Whoopi for calling out Republican hypocrites like Ted Cruz and Donald Trump for questioning Pres. Obama’s citizenship and wasting so much of the public’s time and energy on petty prejudices.
