Watch: Rachel Maddow Exposes Republican 2016 Hopefuls' Criminal Baggage

In this video, Rachel Maddow rips the Republican presidential hopefuls and takes an in-depth look at the fact that not one but TWO of them are currently considering runs while under criminal investigation!

Governor Rick Perry of Texas, whose 2012 campaign fizzled out early on, has not been getting a ton of attention, but he’s been taking steps to try and label himself as the “foreign policy” candidate. Maddow remarks that the “folks in Rick Perry’s political world have so far been pretty successful in getting the national press to ignore this honestly, truly historic thing about his candidacy- that he is apparently going to mount a run for the Presidency while under indictment for multiple criminal corruption charges back home in Texas!” A grand jury indicted him on two felony counts of abusing power, threatening to cut financing to a Democratic district attorney unless he resigned.

She then moves north to Wisconsin, where Governor Scott Walker, a very shady man by all accounts. He himself is not under indictment, but is the subject of multiple criminal investigations into his time as a public officials, which “follow him around like aluminum cans attached to his bumper”. Two of his staffers were convicted of stealing $60,000 from veterans organizations while Walker was County Executive; four more were convicted on multiple felony counts during his first administration, and allegations of improper finance use and corruption still shadow his 2010 election and the 2012 effort to recall him.

It just goes to show what kind of men the Republican Party thinks would be acceptable candidates to run the most powerful nation in the world. The last thing our government needs is more criminal scumbags polluting our democracy with corruption and influence-peddling.
